Update: Level Up!

You may or may not, dear reader, have noticed that I haven’t been around much lately. This blog went from being updated semi-regularly to not really updated at all throughout the entirety of March. The Start Your Meeples Instagram account also slowed down to a crawl, and my fellow bloggers will have probably noticed that I haven’t been around in the blogosphere. All in all, my life has been definitively offline; however, it is for a good reason. My partner and I have just completed on a house.

It is our first house, and the first time buyer market in the UK is such a fun one to negotiate (you can’t really tell the sarcasm when it is written down, but know that I am rolling my eyes). We started our journey way back in August 2018, and completed last month. Over the past couple of weeks, I have painted more rooms, assembled more Billy bookcases, and bought more sofas than I have ever done before in my life. It has been exhausting.

That being said, we are in!

Okay, so back to business – over this time we have still been playing games and analysing them. I haven’t posted much, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been building up a catalogue of ideas in the meantime. Over the past few months we have played a variety of games, including a whopping 40+ games of Keyforge. We have broken out a few classic games from Lords of Waterdeep to Stone Age, and even played a five hour game of A Game of Thrones: The Board Game. What is more, we’ve been trying to break out a few favourites from the past two years out again, including Scythe and Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu.

What this means is that, all in all, it has been a very busy couple of months. We still have a busy time ahead, however, as of mid-next week we should have internet installed in the new place. This, I hope, means a return to the usual kinds of analysis, strategy, and general articles about this fantastic hobby we are a part of.

I’m going to wrap this up now, as I have already assembled a bed tonight so am pretty tired, but I want to thank you for bearing with.

Live long and prosper, and love the game.

Luke
